Uncle Robert was one of my favorite people. Many people are either “right brain” or “left brain”. Not Uncle Robert. His profession as an accountant was so left brain, but his personality and passions (including acting, singing, dancing and his joyful personality) were so right brain. What a unique individual.

I have so many memories or Robert and my Aunt Sally, all of which are positive and joyful. I remember being a young boy when Robert and Sally were dating and married. He would drive us kids in his VW Beatle and let us ride in the trunk. So much fun. I remember all of the Winks family gatherings that were held at the Pott’s home over the years, especially after they renovated their small cottage and converted the basement/garage into a living space. We all loved that basement, especially the trap door and bumper pool table. Robert was always so warm and welcoming to Sally’s extended family. As I grew older and decided to pursue a career in Finance / Accounting, Robert became a mentor. I recall him offering me an opportunity to job shadow him when I was in school at Aquinas. This is the kind of guy Uncle Robert was. As we all grew older, I was honored that Uncle Robert asked me (along with my Aunt Mary Kay) to be a secondary trustees to his nephew Fred Schad for his personal affairs. Just this past year, Robert organized a meeting at his house to make sure his affairs were in order. He was so full of life and happy, even when we were discussing his wishes for after he passed.

The world was a better place because of Robert Potts…and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jason, Jen and family…our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kurt & Gerri Winks and family.

I have been fortunate to have known Bob all my life. Bob was a good friend and dedicated employee working for my grandparents, AG and Mary Morrison. It is with joy and sorrow as I remember the numerous fun times with Bob. There are too many to list. My first recollection was when I was a child on Christmas Eve meeting Santa Claus. Santa (Bob) would show up to my grandparents house in East Grand Rapids with a large sack filled with toys and hand them out to the excited grandchildren. This was a annual tradition. Supposedly, one year a bit older and wiser, I watched through the window Santa leave and exclaimed to everyone " Santa just drove away in Bob Potts car!!"
In the Summer I would sometimes get to go to the office with my grandmother who worked with Bob in the accounting department. I always looked forward to this since Bob had a Great Dane dog that would come to work with him. Pretty cool work environment for the 1960's.
Many years later I joined the family business and got to work with Bob. Bob was a hipster. Always active and enjoying life. After he retired he would come to the office to visit and water all the plants which earned him the title of Plant Manager. Everyone loved Bob!
The last time I saw Bob was at our company's 60th anniversary at the Meijer Gardens. Lots of food, drink and a great dance band. Bob was in his element having a typical wonderful time on the dance floor.
We will miss you good friend. Peace
Barbara and Gregory Morrison

Uncle Robert was truly "young at heart.' He would take me bicycle riding around Reeds Lake when I visited him. He'd take me to see his performance in plays and in 1991 he gave me the adventure of a lifetime. He took cousin Fred and me on a sailboat ride on Reeds Lake. A storm blew in unexpectedly with thunder and lightening and a wave capsized the boat. We were all in the water. We laughed about it for a long time after. Uncle Robert always knew how to have a good time.
Jason and Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed so very much. Your loving cousin, Susan
