Alison Henry

Alison Mary Henry died on February 10, 2016. Alison was born on April 20, 1976 in East Grand Rapids. She was the special daughter of Dr. Charles R. and Margaret C. Henry, and sister of Dr. Elizabeth Henry (Bruno Unzens), and Dr. Charles S. Henry (Dr. Heidi Henry). She was Aunt Ali to Charles and Elena Henry and Alexander Unzens. Alison is deeply mourned by her Uncle Richard Henry and her dear friends, Floyd, Wayne, Brad, Lindy and Mary Ann. The family wishes to thank the staff at Terrace Park Home for their love and care that they provided to Alison. She loved music, and would listen for hours to her favorite “kid’s songs”. She had a sweet singing voice and sang her favorite songs over and over, especially in the car with her dad. Alison enjoyed swimming, boating, visits to Disney World, rides on the golf cart and horseback riding at the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding. Halloween was her favorite holiday and she loved Trick and Treating. She spent 22 wonderful years at Lincoln School and was invited to the school prom with her dad many years after she graduated at age 26.  Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 14th. from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2345 Robinson Rd. SE. For those who wish to memorialize Ali the family suggests donations be made to Lincoln School, 860 Crahen Ave NE, GR 49525, or the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding, 377 Rector Ave NE, Rockford, MI 49341.
