Phillip B. Blok

Phillip Brian Blok, 70, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Blodgett Hospital after a long battle with scleroderma. He was surrounded by his family. 

Phillip was born on March 25, 1950 to James and Phyllis Blok in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from East Grand Rapids High School in 1968. 

Phillip will be lovingly remembered by his children, Julia and Marshall, for showing them how to live life with a sense of curiosity, style, and, most importantly, humor. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister, Judy (Ron) Rinehart; brothers, Steve and John (Betsi) Blok; sister-in-law, Jill Blok; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Phyllis Blok, and his brother, James C. Blok. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Blodgett Hospital for their compassionate care of Phillip throughout his stay.  

The family will receive friends at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Michigan Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation.
