Margaret Hibbard Steketee of Grand Rapids passed away September 9, 2022, at the age of 93. She was born on May 26, 1929, in East Grand Rapids to the late John and Margaret Hibbard. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rob (Pam), William (Susan), Margie (David) Chism; 8 grandchildren, Bob, David (Jessica), and Patrick Steketee, Mairead, Matthew and Maeve Steketee; Alexandra (Jeremy) Stacy and Jack (Grace Lo) Chism; 7 great grandchildren, Cameron and Emma Steketee; Finn, Winn, Wren and Witt Stacy; and Cora Chism; her brother John D. (Gwen) Hibbard Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and sisters, Jane Idema and Mary Redding.
Peggy attended East Grand Rapids High School, Bradford Junior College for two years, and graduated from the University of Michigan. Following college, she was active in the Junior League of Grand Rapids; volunteered at Blodgett Hospital; and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and Treasurer of her church guild.
Peggy enjoyed tennis, playing bridge, Castle Park and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
A family service of remembrance was held at Graceland Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
