Logan Kerns

On November 4, 2023 Logan Spencer Kerns, age 23, unexpectedly left this earth too soon and is now in God’s loving arms. Logan made strong loyal friendships through playing lacrosse and football at St. Francis in Traverse City and Forest Hills Eastern in Grand Rapids. He attended Michigan State University where he studied Zoology and Marine Biology.  Logan was a kind gentle soul with a big heart and a huge passion and love for animals. Logan loved working at Deer Tracks Junction in Cedar Springs. In his free time, Logan could always be found shooting hoops and spending time with his Family and Friends.  As a beloved Son, Brother, and Friend to many, Logan will be forever missed and always in our hearts.  Surviving are his mother, Charise (Beether) Kerns and David Shea and father, Dave and Jennifer (Van Wingen) Kerns, sister Payton Kerns and step siblings: Calahan, Olivia, Sammy Shea, and Thomas and Samantha Van Wingen, grand parents, Frank and Cheryl Martin, Edward and Sharon Beether, Delores and James Sherman and Penny Kerns, uncles and aunts Michael and Jess Beether, Christopher and Anita Beether, Joell Beether, Dan and Kristine (Kerns) Thrush, Cousins, Nicolas and Rachel Beether, and his Loving Dog Duke. Logan was preceded in death by his grandfathers Robert Kerns, Lanny Mattingly.

A Celebration of Logan’s Life will take place on Saturday, December 9th at Vitales in Ada (6650 Fulton St E, Ada, MI 49301) from 12pm – 4pm.   In lieu of flowers, Logan would appreciate donations be sent to Deer Tracks Junction in Cedar Springs. Donations to be made on Venmo @LoganKernsMemorialFund.
