Lloyd L. Littler Jr. 92, LL to friends and family, died peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2023. He was born in Lima, Ohio on June 29, 1930 to Tersa and Lloyd Littler Sr. He lived a full and varied life and touched the lives of many people. As a youth, he excelled in sports and even after losing a leg in battle during the Korean War, he continued to bowl, play golf as well as softball. Later he coached little league baseball, softball, and football in Lima and Findlay. He tried hard not to miss a game in which his children or grandchildren played.
He married Jeanene Judy on December 17, 1951 and they celebrated over 50 anniversaries together until her death in 2003. In that time, he worked many jobs ranging from digging ditches to programming computers after earning his degree in accounting. Later he ran a successful business called the Last Chance Cafe in Lima where he met many lifelong friends. Through it all, he was able to send his three children to college and provide a solid home and support system for them.
His hobbies and skills were vried as well. He was an excellent woodworker and carpenter, but he also loved learning and reading. He played drums and sang in numerous bands, most recently the Tune Toppers. His curiosity was endless, and even into his 90s, he was reading dozens of books each year, taking college classes, and continuously learning and asking questions. Above all were his outgoing personality, friendly demeanor, and occasionally funny jokes.
He leaves behind 3 children, Cyndee (Jon) Detrick, Jonathan (Heidi) Littler, Allison (Kevin) Timpe, and, 8 grandchildren Matt (Brandy) Detrick, Melissa (John Borell) Detrick, Gaerid Littler, Aerianna Littler, Draek Littler, Jameson Timpe, Emmaline Timpe, and Magdalen Timpe, and 3 great grandchildren Alanna Detrick, Nicholas Borell, and Madeline Borell.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date, but for now the family just asks that Lloyd’s friends remember him fondly and take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.
