Kathleen S. DeYoung

On Friday May 20, 2022, Kathleen Sue DeYoung passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82.  She was born on March 4, 1940 in Grand Rapids to the late F. Robert and Jeanne Kinney.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ann (Daniel) Russell, Sandra (Bradley) Niese, Carol (Joe Szarowicz) DeYoung, Gail (Heather Friedriechsen) DeYoung, 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brothers Thomas (Mary Lynn) Kinney, Fred (Leslie) Kinney, sisters-in-law Shelby DeYoung, Sharon Haner, brothers-in-law Allen Krulek, Fred VandenBoogert.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gail R. DeYoung, daughter Reah Johnson and brother Daniel Kinney.  

Kathleen was deeply dedicated to her family who gave her time lovingly to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.  She was an avid doll collector and enjoyed everything involving crafting.  She will be greatly missed.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, MI 49509 with visitation beginning one hour prior to mass at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to cancer research.
