Judith Apol Obituary

Judith Lynn Apol passed away peacefully early in the morning of March 28, after suffering for many months the effects of ALS. Judy, 74, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was an accomplished pianist, a skilled knitter, and a well-known stained-glass artist of 30 years (Contemporary Glassworks). She was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Evelyn Spear, an infant granddaughter, Savannah Visser, and an infant great grandson, Jonah Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Apol; her sons Ken (Shanon) Visser, and Doug Visser; grandchildren Tristan Visser, Alexis Visser, Coby Visser, Layla Visser, Rhianon Visser, Cecilia Visser; great grandchildren Noah Visser, Amadeus Visser; her brother Larry (Brenda) Spear; a brother in law, Jim (Ludy) Apol; sisters in law, Carol Rustemeyer, Carla Weidenaar, Connie (Vic) Sztengel, and Cheryl (Ivan) Kuipers; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and many wonderful friends. Judy was a woman of strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and given the debilitating effects of ALS, was ready to go to her eternal home. She is sorely missed by her family, but the family is grateful that her suffering is over. The family is thankful for the loving care given her by Faith Hospice staff. A memorial and celebration of her life will be scheduled when group size restrictions are lifted.
