Virginia R. Carew

Virginia R. Carew went to be with her Lord and be reunited with her husband, Donald M. Carew on April 13, 2018 at the age of 94.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Donald “Tom” (Jayne) Carew, Debra (Richard) Smith, Linda (Lee) Rigney, all of Grand Rapids.  Virginia also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her siblings Russell Way of Grand Haven and Roberta Way of North Dakota and her beloved cat Puck.  During WWII she was called a typical “Rosie the Riveter” at Hascalite.  She loved nature and spending time with her family.  She and her husband Donald were very active in the Ada, Forest Hills School District with many venues over the years.  A private family ceremony and burial will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Humane Society of West Michigan.
