Tom Worthington

G. Thomas Worthington, 75, of Grand Rapids passed away on Friday, November 24 after spending Thanksgiving surrounded by family.Tom is survived by Doris, his wife of 53 years, their three children —Julie, Sara (Martin), and Robert (Heather)— and seven grandchildren.  His memory also lives on with his sisters Joyce (Tom) and Janet (Byron) as well as his sister-in-law Carol (Gerald) and his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Tom committed himself not only to his family but his students at Grand Rapids Community College where he taught physics and mathematics for 47 years. A visitation will be held at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Thursday November 30th from 4-7pm. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 1st at 12:30pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 47 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.  Friends and loved ones may greet the family before the service beginning at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
