John W. Fellows D.D.S.

John William Fellows, age 74, of Wyoming, Michigan, joined his parents in heaven peacefully Wednesday morning, November 20, 2019 after suffering a stroke. He was a 1963 graduate of Ottawa Hills, received his BS from University of Michigan in 1967, and received his Doctorate of Dentistry from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1971. While at Ottawa Hills he was a member of the swim team where he met many of his life-long friends. After graduating from dental school, John returned to Grand Rapids and started his own dental practice where he enjoyed meeting new patients and providing dental care until his retirement in 2012. John loved to commit his entire self to the activities he was involved in; his love of music (teaching himself to play the guitar and having his own band), going to the gym, cleaning his car and most of all spending time with his family. He was a friend to anyone and generous to a fault. He cared for his patients even when they sometimes could not afford it, offering to barter with them to ensure they received proper care. His kind nature had a positive impact on the many people he met in life.    

John is survived by his brother Ken Fellows, sister Marcia Fellows, wife Terri Fellows, beloved children Jessica (Ryan) Cook, Jonathan “Petey” Fellows, beloved step-children Sarah Stammis, Scott Tusing, six grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends

The family will receive friends from 10:15AM – 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Cornerstone Church, 1675 84th ST SE, Caledonia, MI  49316, with a memorial service at 11:00AM and lunch to follow. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to West Michigan Dental Society or any animal rescue of choice.
