Helen Fredricks

Fredricks, Helen, 68, of Caledonia went to be with her heavenly Father on July 14, 2019, surrounded by her four daughters.  Helen was born April 27, 1951 in Holland, MI, to Russel and Audrey Fredricks. She graduated from Holland Christian High School and Calvin College with a degree in elementary education.  Helen was an active member of Calvary Church, serving on the benevolent team and participating in Bible studies. She enjoyed Holland and spending time at her condo on Lake Michigan with family and friends.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, Fox News, and her “sisters” and dominoes groups. Family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, contagious laugh and generous heart.   Helen’s greatest joys in life were her family, friends, serving others and living her life for Christ.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Russel and Audrey Fredricks, sister Lois Jaarda and brother Ed Fredricks.  She is survived by her daughters: Becky (Scott) Schrotenboer, Lisa (Brandon) Lummen, Cathy (Chad) Schultz and Susan Postma.  Grandchildren: Ally, Nathan, Ava, Will, Zac, Max and Stephen, brother Jim (Faye) Fredricks, brother-in-law Gary Jaarda, sister Kathy (Skip) Kornoelje, sister Ruth (Dave) Larkin, and many beloved nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 11:00 am at Calvary Church, 707 E. Beltline Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.  Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18th from 2-4 & 6–8pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, 49546.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Benevolent Fund of Calvary Church or The Wounded Warrior Project.
