Gary Chester Hall

Gary C. Hall of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, April 17 at the age of 72.  Gary was born in Owosso, MI, graduated from Owosso High School, then attended Michigan State University for three years before enlisting in the US Navy.  He served three tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Noxubee.  While Gary was on leave in Hawaii he met his wife Elizabeth.  Gary and family loved spending time at the cottage on Torch Lake. He was also very involved in the USS Noxubee Association, serving as President up until his passing. Gary worked as a manager in the hotel industry throughout most of his career, mostly with Holiday Inn.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents Marvin B. and Eleanor Hall, his son Michael Hall in 2009, his brother Wally Hall in 2018, and brother in law Edward Salgat.  Surviving are his wife of 44 years Elizabeth “Betty”, grandson Michael Bertram Hall II, daughter in law Ann E. Hall, sister in law Susan Hall, brothers in law Edward and George (Pat) Kosick, sister in law Marie Salgat and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25th, 2019, 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2700 Fulton St. E., Grand Rapids, 49506, with visitation on Wednesday April 24th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Metcalf & Jonkhoff funeral home 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, 49546.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.  Gary’s family would like to thank their Trinity Lutheran Church family for all of the thoughts, prayers and kind words during this difficult time.
