Erma Marie (Gruebner) Wilcox (daughter of August and Clara Gruebner) passed away at age 89 on February 19, 2019 at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was preceded in death by husband John, brother Raymond Gruebner and half brother Arnold Prissing. She is survived by sons, Timothy (Barbara), Jeffrey (Mindy), daughter Amy, grandchildren Matt (Alena) and Rachael Taylor and great-grandson, Cole Henry Taylor, in-laws Richard Wilcox and Flossie Nordrum and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was born May 29, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Erma was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Favorite pastimes included traveling with her husband to professional golf tournaments, Michigan college sporting events and Tiger baseball and enjoying vacations with her family. She was an avid follower of current events, a patron of the arts and enjoyed choral singing and she was an excellent knitter. Erma loved to bake; a favorite was her variety of Christmas cookies. She was a volunteer teacher with the Head Start program in Grand Rapids at its inception. Erma requested a private graveside service for family members.
