Douglas Todd Gaskin, age 56, a long-time resident of Homewards North AFC Grand Rapids, passed into the presence of his Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Douglas was born on December 8, 1961 in Norwood, MA. He was a graduate of Forest Hills Central High School and attended Northern Michigan University. Doug was an outdoorsman who loved the time he could spend in the Northern Woods hunting and fishing. He appreciated all types of music. Most important to Doug were the outings, vacations, and time spent with his family. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Holmes Gaskin. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Maribeth (Kaat) and John S. Weadock; three brothers, Randy Holmes Gaskin, Shawn Philip Gaskin (Alisa), and Thomas Edwin Gaskin (Nicole); his step-mother, Georgia Gaskin; his extended family, John Weadock Jr., Stacey and John Gannon and Matthew and Kim Weadock and several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and for one hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Memorial Funeral Services at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, 7495 Cascade Rd. SE. The family would like to thank the staff of Homewards North AFC, and especially his long-time caretaker Fran, for their loving and caring support.
