She is also survived by her sisters, Trudi Taylor and Noreen Baxter in addition to her four grandchildren, Joe Jackson, Julia Jackson, Sam Jackson and Becky Jackson, whom she dearly loved with all her heart.
Carole was born and lived in Rockland County for many years before marrying and relocating with her husband to the suburbs of Chicago, where she lived until 1980 when she and her son moved to Suffern, NY to be closer to her sisters. She spent a good portion of her career as a bookkeeper for Benjamin Moore Paints in Mahwah, NJ before retiring to follow her son Jeff and his family as they moved around the country for his career. She first joined them in Atlanta, GA in 1998 and then on to Coppell, TX in 2000, where they lived for 11 years before moving to Eugene, OR (her favorite place) in 2010. Finally, the family moved to Grand Rapids, MI in 2013.
Carole was a devoted mother who invested all she had and all she was to raise her son. She was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, most recently with Troop 21 in Suffern, NY. She helped Jeff achieve his Eagle Scout rank and continued her involvement with the troop for years after Jeff left for college and career. She was tireless in her service to her family and to the Boy Scouts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 1st at 12:00 PM in the community room at Summerhaven Apartments, where she lived, 4740 Breton Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Boy Scouts of America.
