Our most tender shoot, just learning to branch out, has fallen from our family tree.
Our lovely son...and brother, Ethan Sterling Gibson left us on Thursday morning August 26, 2021.
He is survived by his father Michael, mother Carol and brothers Jarad and Avery.
Ethan, the large part of you that is now missing inside each one of us, will have to be filled with the dreams and adventures we anticipated you would have. You didn't see this yet, but you had a natural zest for life, very generous, and a potent ability to influence others.
Ethan had been working with an amazing team at Chick-Fil-A (East Beltline), and was saving for a car, then deciding between EMT and nursing for a career. Ethan wanted to learn to play guitar, he was an avid writer, was actively learning Japanese language, and krav maga self defense. He enjoyed long tours on the bike trails, walking the sand dunes, being together as a family, exploring nature, and being adventurous.
Sensitive and compassionate, we cherish who you are forever!
A celebration of Ethan's life will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday, September 28th at Grant Pavilion, 1400 Maynard St. SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.
PSALM 116
VS.3 The cords and sorrows of death were around me; I suffered anguish and grief.
VS 4 Then I called upon the name of the Lord: Oh Lord, I beseech You, save my life and deliver me !
VS 5 Gracious is the Lord...our God is merciful.
VS 6 The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He helped and saved me.
