Carl W. Andre

Carl Andre, age 92, of Grand Rapids passed away on Wednesday, September 18 2019 with his daughters at his side. Carl was born on May 3, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN., the son of William and Frances Andre who preceded him in death. Also preceding in death was his wife, Gail, and two sisters, Eleanor Wyer and Lois Applebee.  Carl was the owner of his small family business, Parmenter & Andre, in Grand Rapids for many years. He was a very outgoing, social person who had a zest for life that he shared with his many friends where ever he went. He and his wife loved their life at the cottage in Idlewood Beach on Lake Michigan in Holland. After his retirement they moved to Bradenton, FL. Later he returned to Grand Rapids to be by his family. He leaves behind three daughters, Nancy (Steve) Hubbarth, Barb (Geordie) Vandop, Sue (Steve) Bosscher; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of his life will take place. For those who wish memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice or a charity of one’s choice.
