William E. Meyers

It is with great sadness that the family of William “Bill” Edward Meyers of Grand Rapids, announce his passing on December 13, 2017 at the age of 76.

William was born on September 27, 1941.  He served in the US Army and was also a US Merchant Marine Officer.  William was president and CEO of Nationwide Transportation and spent most of his weekends fishing and hunting with friends and family or anyone who was up for a great adventure.  He simply loved the outdoors.

Bill was a patient and loving father and husband who will forever be remembered by his wife of 50 years Lora and his three daughters, Ashlee (Michael) Dowley, Leslie Mehney and Rene (Sean) Growney; Seven grandchildren, Keegan, Connor, Reed, Riley, Ryann, Ella and Eden, his sister Carol Taylor and brother Michael Meyers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Edward Meyers and brother Richard Meyers.

Visitation will be Sunday December 17th from 1-3 pm with the funeral service to follow at 3pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 4595 Broadmoor Ave. SE, Suite 230, Kentwood, MI 49512.
