Theodore "Ted" D. Brundidge

November 28, 1923 ~ February 16, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Theodore “Ted” D.  Brundidge, age 93, of Grand Rapids passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Porter Hills Retirement Community. Ted was born in Okmulgee, OK on November 28, 1923, the son of M. M. and Marelka Brundidge. He served honorably during W.W. II with the U.S. Army in the European Campaign receiving two bronze stars and a silver star. After the war, he graduated from Michigan State University and Western Michigan University where he received his Master’s Degree in Business.  He worked for Amway Corporation for over 16 years and following his retirement he taught as an adjunct professor at G.V.S.U.  After their retirement, he and his wife spent their winter months in Naples, FL where he spent much of his time on the golf course and enjoyed the time he had to read all manner of books. The love of his life was his very close family. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Joan Brundidge (nee Meyer); three children, Jane and Ed Gray of E. Grand Rapids, Jim and Chris Brundidge of Grand Rapids and Cappy and Jim Hook of Kewadin, MI; seven grand-children, Stacy Brundidge, Carrie Brundidge, Liz Gray and her fiancée, Rob, Reilly Gray, Trip and Virginia Hook, Justin Hook and Steve Hook. Also surviving are his sister, Joanne Cage of Austin TX, brother-in-law, James C. & Nancy Meyer of Canon, CO and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
