Michael E. Lynch

Michael “Mike” Lynch age 64 of Grand Rapids died at his home on Thursday after a prolonged illness.  Mike was born in Saginaw, Michigan, but spent most of his youth in Lapeer, Michigan.  He graduated from Lapeer High School in 1971, where he received numerous academic, leadership and music awards.  After graduating from Sacred Heart Seminary and continuing his formation and studies with the Dominican Order, Mike taught religion and history for a number of years before transitioning to the travel industry.  Mike will be remembered for his laugh, intellect, quick wit, fantastic singing voice, diverse musical skills and his love for greyhound dogs.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lynch, and is survived by his mother, Joan Lynch, his sister, Tracey (Floyd) Champagne, his two brothers, Peter (Kathy) and Dan (Carolyn) Lynch and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.  Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M., rosary at 10:30 A.M., and Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Jude Parish, 1120 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name can be made to Allies Greyhounds Rescue, P.O. Box 63, Grandville, MI 49468-0063.
