Mary Lee Lynch

August 24, 1924 ~ June 22, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Mary Lee Moshier Lynch, surrounded by angels, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017. She was born August 24, 1924, in Grand Rapids, MI.  The daughter of the late Mignon McClanahan and Floyd Judson Moshier, she was married to her high-school sweetheart Daniel L. Lynch for 65 years. Her husband passed away in 2014.

She is survived by her three sons and their spouses Daniel and Ann of Lincoln, MA.; Judson and Lynn of East Grand Rapids; and Christopher and Barbara of Chattanooga, TN.; and five grandchildren: Charles of San Diego, CA.; Megan (her husband Casey Kornoelje) of Grand Rapids; Allison (her husband Jeff Domingo) of San Diego, CA.; Catherine (her husband Patrick Shockey) of New Orleans, LA.; and Stephanie of Miami, FL.

She lived in Grand Rapids and was involved in St. Stephens Catholic Church and numerous charities, including the St. John’s Guild, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and the St. Cecilia Society.  She was also a member of the Women’s City Club, Junior League, Women’s Resource Center, the Side Board Guild of Blodgett Hospital and Grand Girlfriends of the Saint Mary’s Foundation. She and her husband were members of the West Michigan Jazz Society and supporters of the Grand Rapids Symphony for many years. A sweet, kind, spiritual lady who was a treasured mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  “God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life; it is kept in heaven for you.”  (1 Peter 1:4)

A memorial service will be held at 11am on July 22nd at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Chapel.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Saint Mary’s Foundation and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
