Laura "Lollie" Alice (Van Brunt) Fletcher

Laura “Lollie” (Van Brunt) Fletcher, age 84 formerly of Grand Rapids, West Olive and most recently resided at Sunrise of Cascade Assisted Living, passed away Tuesday, June 6th at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. Lollie attended The University School of Milwaukee, Bennett Junior College and Northwestern University where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a volunteer in a number of organizations including The Junior League of Grand Rapids, the Hodgen Guild of Blodgett Hospital, the Mary Free Bed Guild and The West Olive Yacht Club and a former member of Grace Episcopal Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Richard “Dick” Muir Fletcher.  She is survived by her children Linda and Steven Daab of Olathe, KS, Bradlee and Kristene Fletcher of Aurora, IL; four grandchildren, Lauren and Madeline Daab, Matthew and Ryan Fletcher and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins and her beloved dog Sophie, who has a wonderful new home with her former walking companion Melissa Dodd of Kentwood. In keeping with Lollie’s wishes cremation has taken place.  A visitation will be Thursday, August 10th, from 10am until noon with a Memorial Service at noon at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.  There will be a reception immediately following the service at the funeral home. Reverend Jared C. Cramer of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Grand Haven, where Lollie was a member for many years, will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harbor Humane Society of West Olive, MI in Lollie’s name.
