Jane Corrine Eddy

Jane Eddy, 83, of Portland, Michigan, passed away surrounded by her loving family Friday August 21, 2015.  She was born and raised in Grand Rapids, graduating from Creston High School and then attending Western Michigan University.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years Robert, son Tom & Cheryl Ann Johnston, daughter Janie & Jeff Cohen; 5 grandchildren Zachary & Karen Johnston, Zane Johnston, Zeke Johnston, Michael Cohen and Scott Cohen and one great grandchild Zander Johnston.  Jane was preceded in death by her sisters Gracia Allwood and Nancy Breen.  She loved camping, enjoyed watching her family play sports, never missing an event, caring for all of her dogs and spending time over the years at their 3 different family cottages.  Jane also had a passion for volunteering where she worked at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida for 24 years.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 25, 2015 at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49546.  Interment will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 10am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
