Geraldine W. Pearson

Geraldine Winifred Pearson, age 90, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday March 4, 2017.  She was born on March 13, 1926 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Donald and Vivian (Wolfinger) Raymer. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Barbara Miller of Chicago, Eric (Kim) Pearson of Grand Rapids, Jill (Kenneth) Reider of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren Travis (Courtney) Miller, Brent (Sarah) Miller, Christopher (fiancé Krystal Tucker) Pearson, Katherine (Robert) Stone, Kyle Pearson; three great grandchildren Carter, Drake and Nora Miller and four nieces and one nephew.  She was preceded in death by her husband Willard “Bill” Pearson, sister Dorothy Raymer and brother Donald Raymer. 

Geraldine attended Michigan State University, was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  Following her work as a Veterinarian, she worked for many years at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Cytogenetics research.  Geraldine volunteered for over 30 years at Clark Retirement Community, was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was very active in the choir. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.  She enjoyed being outdoors, animals, gardening, and spending time with her family at the cottage on Platte Lake.  She will be greatly missed. 

The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 8th at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1100 Lake Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506 with visitation one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
