Kathryn Ann LaBrecque

Kathryn Ann LaBrecque age 65 of Grand Rapids and formerly South Bend, Indiana and West Bloomfield, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, August, 13, 2017.  Kathy was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 27, 1952 to the late Don & Helen Goetz.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years Marty LaBrecque, daughters Angela Polsgrove, Meredith (Kipp) Bronk, Colleen LaBrecque; grandchildren Jacob and Morgan Polsgrove, Victoria, Talia and Ainsley Bronk and sisters Alice (Tom) Malik and Suzanne Maniaci.  She was also preceded in death by a brother Tom Goetz.  For almost 20 years, Kathy worked in human resources for BASF, retiring in 1997.  She was a remarkable cook who enjoyed entertaining, listening to music, especially country music, spending time with her family and traveling around the world with Marty.  She readily turned strangers into friends and welcomed everyone with open arms.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.  The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
